Chain links, chunky crystals, Bowie-inspired leggings, night sky hues and plenty of ☆ stardust ☆…. Disco-esque tones in dusk bring an almost futuristic shimmer to this concrete overpass.
Speaking of Disco, metal mesh makes a great 70’s style-choker (I simply cut a piece and added clasps to the end. Copy me, if you’d like!) And if you’re feeling extra, make yourself these spike shoes too (mini-tutorial here) and stunt on ’em. If you want to be extra af, finish with glitter hair gel (I mixed glitter into aloe, recipe via my crafty friend MhmThatGirl)…..
Lobster claws are seeing a resurgence, but as a modern, chic focal….take my bracelet quite a few photos down. It’s literally the EASIEST thing to add large lobsters on the end of a piece of chain (measure your wrist) and clasp – instant industrial-glam. Layer this up with other DIY bracelet wraps or crystal stretch bands (I’ve got a tutorial here). You simply cannot go wrong.
Cracked concrete is always a recurring theme for me, quite possibly a favorite texture, adding the right amount of neutral grunge. A fenced overpass acts as somewhat of a cage, but we free spirits are not ones to be caged. We can see all sides, think outside the box, through the box really, because the box only exists to those that believe in it.
BTW, catch me along w/fellow Chicago blogger Ela of Generation Bliss at NYFW this weekend! Where are our other Chi-town bloggers at?!
