Spring has SPRUNG at the Nordstrom Beauty Trend show in Tampa….. I just attended the event this morning with a few fellow bloggers and my girl/makeup queen Schaumin (@TheJamericanBeauty) to catch all the season’s newest products and trends. Hosted by Nordstrom’s Beauty Director Derek Miller, we got up bright and early to get first look at allll the goodies – and we took home a large amount of loot as well!

Derek walked us through new beauty innovations, trending colors and gave us quick tips on simplifying beauty routines. Celebrity makeup artists showcased their goods, including a Bobbi Brown eye palette that was developed for the Ulla Johnson show (swoon). One standout for me was Madonna’s skincare line, MDNA. First off like who doesn’t lovess Madonna – and he demoed her Chrome Clay Mask. I kid you not, it looked magical af…the mask lifts off the skin with a magnetic Mask Remover, leaving just healing serum behind. Totally cool technology.

The other product I thought was super cool was Dyson’s Supersonic Hair Dryer…. it’s like part hair dryer, part…vacuum?! There’s attachments you can add to smooth or style your hair too.

Pink is the beauty color of the season (to my dismay, sadly, as a lover of black and all things dark) – and pink hues were all over the runway. Derek’s first clothing trend, Desert Rose, focused on a soft, semi-bohemian theme with plenty of feminine accents. Ruffles, statement earrings and sunnies matched perfectly for Spring sophistication.

Power Pout was a second trend, focusing on “Girl Boss” styling with updates on suiting, plenty of stripes, and pattern mixing. Pops of snakeskin were a total yas, adding a bit of edge to the looks.

The show finished with Tropicalia, a nod to beachy destinations with flowy silhouettes, and bright colors. Acrylic also made an appearance here – acrylic bags and shoes add a mod, slightly retro vibe to the theme.

After the show, there was a slew of classes, demos and events to attend downstairs. I beelined for the fragrance dept. because, well, I’m a sucker for good smells. Obsessedddd with Replica Jazz Club by Margiela – it’s like a mix of warm tobacco, and a bit of sugar, rum and spice. We went to Kiehl’s and also tested our skin hydration level- and mine was the best of the group somehow (bc coffee is basically my blood type at this point and I can’t remember the last time I drank plain water) but something must be working ?.  We finished with some trips to Lancôme, Clinique, La Mer and NARS. It was great to meet industry professionals, sample product and mingle with other Tampa bloggers as well.

Special thanks to Schaumin and the Lancôme team for their hospitality and Influencer goodie bags! Will be back for next season’s show!
