The 90s has been a big source of inspiration for trends recently, so it isn’t surprising that some of the trends from back then are making a comeback. Here are some of the favorites from the coolest decade from the last century.
Piercings
Back in the 90s, everyone had a belly piercing or a few earrings. Since then, the world of piercing has been embraced more than the alternative crowd. But now, it is making a comeback. If this is something that you would like to learn more about or would like to get a piercing, always speak to a professional. Go to a piercing shop and let them discuss and add any jewellery. And please, don’t do it in the kitchen with a needle and a friend. That is just gross.
Chokers
The black bands around your neck are one of the staples of the 90s, you were nobody without the signature black choker. Since then, the styles have evolved but we are finally going full circle and embracing the old plastic ones that stretched around your throat. They are a favourite because they were comfortable to wear and lasted ages. Of course, you could wear the traditional velvet ones from the 80s if you are feeling brave. There are plenty of places that still stock them or just steal your mum’s old ones if she still has them.
Silver Rings
When we say silver rings, we mean like the ones that Phobe used to wear in Friends. This carefree hippy had her hands covered in silver rings that were stacked high. Now we are seeing people making the most out of the old rings that don’t fit them anymore by stacking them on their fingers. You can invest in some high-quality stacking sets if you don’t have any old rings to wear. Who would have thought that Friends would be bringing the styles back? Next thing we know, the Rachel haircut will be back.
