Gorgeous latte art, a lotta vintage charm and loads of DIY sparkles – the perfect combination for a sleepy, snowy day.

I’ve been hooked on making upcycled tees and tanks – hence this sparkly The Doors version. You can grab some really great graphic tees at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores for just a few bucks. Add some bleach, then distress them with Xacto knives, sandpaper or a file. And finally – the best part – affix some heat-set rhinestones to the tee, giving your piece that glam/grunge goodness. Be careful when washing though, hand washing is best, to preserve all your crystals or embellishments.

Mix your new statement tee with layering pieces (as I’ve done here with chunky cocktail rings, stacking bracelets, a hand chain and pendant necklaces) for that always-coveted “indie” look. You can find my tutorial for a similar hand chain here, and tutorial for a similar crystal layering necklace here. And I mean, what better place to be at in this getup than a local coffee cafe? Higher Grounds in Lemont is all about that chill vibe – stop by for a steamy cuppa Joe or  creamy coconut milk cappuccino if you’re in the area!

And lastly, throw on a fur (faux of course) to chase away the winter chill.

Special thanks to my model Karlee Dewan for braving the snow, and Higher Grounds Coffee for letting us take over the window seats while we shot!
